Hi, I'm Jakkie.

I am a fully registered Psychologist and Director of Fuller Life Psychology Practice.  I started the practice to offer clients  a safe, non-judgmental space to be themselves and explore areas of their lives that they would like some skills and healing in with the support of evidence based therapy.

Fuller Life Psychology is committed to be more than just a psychology practice, we are committed to be a service where you can connect with another real person as you heal, grow and connect with the life you want.

I am committed to building an authentic, safe and supportive collaboration with my clients to guide and walk alongside them in reaching their goals in life, whether that be in school, work, relationships, families, and social connections.

Experience:

I have worked in a variety of settings with children, adolescents, adults, couples and  families with severe and complex mental health disorders in disability organisations and private practice over the last 10 years.

I am passionate working with children, adolescents, couples and families using evidence-based treatments to create opportunities for healing, growth and reconnection in life.

Therapy Approach:

I use several therapeutic modalities and often use them in combination to support each client’s unique needs. These modalities include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT and TF-CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and  Art & Play therapy.

When working with couples I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy.
